all is alive.
take a chunk of wood for instance.
at first glance it might seem
firm, stable, unalterable,
but oh, give it time.
it rottens, it becomes moldy green,
it swells due to high humidity,
just like your hair,
which by the way some say it is
dead — but it is not.
there is movement,
and there is change.
we are all so afraid of change
even though change touches
everything there is — even what
people think is dead.
change is merciless yet trustworthy.
it will change everything,
even that sturdy wood chunk.
